AADB Conference General Management

This is to outline the general management responsibilities for the AADB Office and local committee.
- The AADB Office will take the major responsibility of planning for the biannual national conference and will work to ensure that everything is running smoothly.
- The AADB Office will oversee the following committees:
- Local committee
- SSP committee
- Registration committee
- Technology and Accessibility committee
- Program committee (Workshops and Tours included)
- Banquet
- Transportation committee
- Housing committee
- Exhibit and Sponsorship Committee
- The responsibilities of the local committee are as follows:
- Recruiting and training of local SSPs and Volunteers
- Planning for evening socials
- Fundraising for evening socials, tote bags, travel for local committee for onsite planning, etc.
- Collecting tote bag memorabilia (donated or paid for by local committee fundraising)
- Designing conference logo and t-shirts
- And any other responsibilities assigned by the AADB Office.
- The responsibilities of other committees will be outlined in separate policies.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) shall be developed between the AADB Executive Director and the chair of the local committee. This MOU will describe the lines of communication between the AADB Office and local committee, as well as their responsibilities and duties. The AADB Executive Director and the chair of the local committee will sign this MOU prior to beginning actual conference planning.
